FiraReus, Exhibition and Convention Centre

Trade fair activity in the city of Reus dates back to the first and second “Exhibition of Electricity Applications in Agriculture” of 1925 and 1933. However, it was not until 1942 that what would become known as the Fira de Mostres was created, and which would continue over the years.

FiraReus increased its activity once fixed installations where it could carry on its activity had been created. With the new pavilions in the Avinguda de Sant Jordi, officially opened in 1978, the Fira embarked upon a new phase. On the one hand, by modernising management and organisation, and on the other through a change of name: from the “Feria Oficial de Muestras de la Provincia de Tarragona” to Expro/Reus.

In the 1980s, the fair became annual and a major calendar of trade fairs was consolidated around it with initiatives such as Expojardí, Tot Nuvis, Convivideo or the Parc de Nadal, some of which have lived on thanks to the effort they have made to adapt to the new times.

FiraReus now has new premises in Avinguda de Bellissens, 40, in the city's main growth area, the Tecnoparc complex, in a well-connected area, near the exit from the motorway, the airport and the future intermodal station, thus facilitating access to the site by visitors and exhibitors from all over the country and the world.

The new Centre de Fires i Convencions de firaReus provides more than 14,000 m2 with the best equipment and services, with a huge trade fair venue of 6,500 m2, 12 congress rooms adaptable to different types of events and meetings, a business room on the second floor and one of the most emblematic spaces in the building, the Marià Fortuny foyer, which provides access to the Gaudí Auditorium and congress rooms and boasts almost 1,000 m2 of surface area.

All this to consolidate Reus' capacity to spearhead outstanding, and in many cases groundbreaking, initiatives, which put the city on the map.

Reus has a longstanding trade fair tradition that began at the beginning of the 19th Century as a result of the abundant commercial and export activity carried on in the city. This activity lives on in the Fira de Reus, an organisation that continues to promote and foster the economic, social and cultural sectors of the territory, and which has managed to consolidate its position as one of the most important trade fairs in Catalonia.

Fira de Reus is a private foundation managed by the Reus Desenvolupament Econòmic, SA (REDESSA) company, which has four main trustees: the Government of Catalonia, the County Council of Tarragona, the City Council of Reus and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Reus

Every year, Fira de Reus organises fifteen fairs which are well consolidated in the territory, most of them targeting the general public. Besides these fairs, Fira de Reus also organises events, conventions, product presentations and congresses that are planned according to the specific needs of each company.
